We are the Youth Board
The Youth Board have members representing a diverse number of colleges from the local area, coming together to make a difference. We work alongside the Board of Trustees of Youth Project NZ, sharing our ideas and passion to promote connectivity throughout our community. From organising litter pickups to hosting community picnics, we're all about helping people and taking care of our environment.
Youth board representatives.
Who Are We?
Hey everyone! To introduce myself, my name is Larissa Ta. I am the Chairperson and member of the executive committee. I am one of the main representatives voicing updates and feedback between the board and Youth Project NZ's Board of Trustees.
Driven by a passion for connection, innovation and initiative. I strive to positively advocate for youth voices and to support our visionary members to make effective decisions. My role ensures the board runs smoothly, events align with our values and that important information is received by our team. Embodying the motto “Growing community connections” I lead a diverse student body of ambitious thinkers in a relaxed but driven environment. A safe space where young leaders are confident, empowered and can make a real life impact towards communities. Every perspective counts and no opinions are overlooked.

Kia ora, I’m Nikita, and I’ll be the treasurer for the 2026 Youth Board. My role is to manage financial facilities and record our funds accurately to allow thorough and efficient planning when it comes to community events and workshops. I’ll also assist with fundraising events, which give us the funds that allow us to create these youth events.
I love helping out in the community, and I’m always willing to lend a helping hand, so I’m very grateful the Youth Board has given me this privilege to become a member of the executive committee, as it allows me to extend my abilities and resources throughout our local area. The Youth Board allows its members and any event attendees to get active and involved and to connect with new people, so with my role, I aspire to grow our board to reach many others.
Howdy! My name is Evelyn and I am the Secretary of the Youth Board's Executive Committee.
My role is to ensure the organisation of information for our meetings. I write the agendas in advance to meetings as a summary of what we will need to talk about. I also note down details we discuss during meetings, which are sent out collectively as the minutes to all members of the Youth Board.
It is incredible to be helping the genuine, positive impacts in our community that have come from the consistent efforts of youth, and I am very excited to see what our team will be able to accomplish for the future.

Join Us!
We’re on the lookout for passionate young people aged 13 to 19 who attend local colleges. We hold monthly meetings in the Botany area and need members who are committed, enthusiastic, and ready to pitch in.
If you’ve got bright ideas, love speaking up, and don’t mind getting your hands dirty picking up litter or helping out at community events. Contact Claire claire@youthprojectnz.org
