Our Youth Board organised a clean up at Barry Curtis Park, this event was a great success. They had 33 youth volunteers turn up to clean up the park for two hours.

These amazing young people collected 53.6kg of rubbish in that time, what a difference they have made to our local community.

We are so lucky to have all the equipment needed, such as litter grabbers, gloves and high vis vests, all kindly donated by the local Freemasons.

It was great to see so many young people giving up their time in the school holidays to care for the environment and their community. It is also a great way to get outside for exercise. Being outside in nature is so great for mental health as is volunteering.

Some of the students were volunteering as part of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award- great way to get some hours of service
