We all hear about the bad choices some youth make but we see a different side, we have met some many wonderful young people who want to help others and make a difference to their local community.

Our fantastic Youth Board are a group of 34 young people from 6 different local colleges. They come together once a month to organise events for others or think of ways to help the community.

They had a meeting last week and are busy planning a litter pick up and a visit to an aged care facility.

All the students work so well together, sharing their opinions and thoughts

We are also working with a group of youth from Botany Downs Secondary College who are completing their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. They meet with us once a week at Botany Library after school to volunteer.

This last week they had a choice of what to do:

This group to decided to help Youth Project NZ get ready for the busy week ahead by preparing resources for our Kindness in the Community Activities in Primary Schools.

The other group made kindness jars filled with positive messages.

We would like to thank Kip MacGarth Tutoring Pakuranga for helping to fund this activity.

All these young people are making a difference to the community and should proud of themselves.
